The trip is fast approaching!

The trip is fast approaching!  We have one more pre-trip session for participants this coming Thursday, February 28 at 7pm at CHHE on Montgomery Rd.  The Israeli Chaverim are joining us to share some Israeli culture and answer our questions about the Israel portion of our trip.  Participants, if you want to meet for dinner before the meeting, we can eat at Noodles and Co. on Montgomery Rd. in Kenwood at 5:30pm.

Then, on Thursday, March 14 at 7pm, we have the final pre-trip meeting for both parents and participants.  At this meeting, we will hand out the final trip itinerary and packing list, and answer any questions you may have about the trip, travel, packing, weather, etc.  At this meeting, we will also hear from survivor Henry Fenichel, who has a fascinating presentation for us about how he personally survived the holocaust.

I would also like to share an article that Aileen Greenberg-Kriner, who’s son is going on the trip this year, shared with me: http://nbcnews.to/TSTmEW
This article mentions some of the places our group will see during our week in Poland, and it highlights how the Polish government is making steps to restore the memories of the Holocaust, where in the past they made every effort to hide it.  It’s an interesting article, and a good way to start thinking about the time our group will be spending in Poland at the beginning of April.

Also, for those of you who have asked for documentation for your school guidance counselor or attendance office, you can find a page that outlines the basics of the trip on the right side navigation bar.  Hopefully this is useful, and as always, you can put the schools directly in touch with me if they have any questions.
